It would be really nice to see something like this done. It would make a nice reference manual. It would be nice to see something like this for all the various tags and parameter type fields available in COT.

Its a worthwhile project but will be very time consuming I think.

  • Code On Time v9 is being actively developed right now.

A unique development environment is built into your applications when you run them on the computer with Code On Time installed. Context menu option will activate the development environment, which consists of Project Explorer and Object Inspector. The layout will be familiar to Visual Studio.

The development environment is based on Touch UI. It overlays your app when activated.

Properties of objects selected in Project Explorer will be listed in Object Inspector.

Inspection of the application user interface elements will automatically synchronize Project Explorer and Object Inspector.

Changes to the properties in Object Inspector will be reflected in the live app.

Object Inspector will show ALL properties and tags available for an object. We will provide a brief description of each property and a reference to the documentation when available. Documentation will be a part of the new codeontime.com website.

The entire hierarchy of properties/tags is formalized in v9. Our new documentation system will provide a unified access to the docs. We will offer a way to get the docs in PDF format as a book.

The news about the Object Inspector is really good. I will look forward to seeing it implemented in v9. Much of the time I spend is tracking down the tags and properties available for a given object. Speaking for myself, it should really help my development time and processes.
