Timeout in Advanced Search while counting records

Dropdown selections in Advanced Search try to count the number of records that match the selection item in the list.


This is causing timeout issues in some instances, specifically in our application where we have two large tables that are joined together and counts for each item are large. Is there a way to disable the counting of records and just display the unique list options in the dropdown list?
