  • Hi. I think COT are still finalising the offline sync licensing model and payment gateway etc. Over the last few minor releases the offline sync framework has been been prepared. I also believe that this maybe release together with Android support in cloud on time.

Hopefully a release may occur during July Or August.

  • Offline Sync is scheduled to go out in the 3rd week of July 2019. It will be compatible with the release 8.9.0.0. The purchase options will be announced soon.

Offline Data Processor (ODP) will be enabled by default when release 8.9.0.0 is out. It will make possible to enter new master records and their children linked via DataView fields. If the new master record is canceled then the child records are also canceled. If the master record is posted then children are posted with it in the context of a transaction.

Transactional data input will be enabled automatically when DataView fields are detected.

ODP will be enabled only in new projects. Legacy projects will not be affected unless ODP is explicitly enabled in ~/touch-settings.json.

Offline Sync takes advantage of ODP and performs the following functions:
    1) It engages only in Native Apps (Cloud On Time app or native branded app).
    2) It automatically downloads all data linked to pages marked as "offline" to the local storage of the device.
    3) It intercepts all requests to read data and fetches records from JSON storage even if the device is online. That way user works in offline/disconnected mode.
    4) It intercepts all requests to insert/update/delete and stores them in the log. Each request is "simulated" on JSON data stored locally.
    5) It will submit the log of changes to the server when user selects Synchronize command from the context menu.
    6) It handles error reconciliation driven by the end user.

ODP is free and included in all product editions.

Offline Sync will need to be purchased.
