Submitting Email Address in Text Field, C# Business Rule Attempting to Call Method in Code

I have a manually built a custom controller "Register" with one text field called "EA" short for Email Address. When I attempt to use the email address in my custom C# Business Rule, I get an error stating that the "Method Not Found" as if its converting the immediate text after the @ symbol and thinking I'm trying to access a business rule method, instead of sending the literal text containing the full email address.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or have a resolution?
