Next update

I am about to start a major project using COT. I'm on 8.7.4.0 Unlimited. Given my mixed experiences with COT upgrades in the past I would prefer to start with version 8.7.5.0 rather than develop and then in a few days upgrade and possibly have to start again.

Can you please give an indication of when 8.7.5.0 will be released. It has been imminent for quite a while now. Should I wait a few days?

Kind regards,

Paul

  • this is nothing but the truth: I've been waiting this release (8.7.5.0) for almost 4 months (2018-06-21 : http://community.codeontime.com/codeo...)

Jesus is referring to the account manager at https://manage.codeontime.com.

The new account manager will go online in the next few days along with the release 8.7.5.0.

The new account manager implements integrated product activation and will allow downloading Offline Sync Add-On.

My Premium licensing will expire in a very few days (3 more days from today) and if they release 8.7.5.0 next day, I won't be able to have it.

That is so outrageously unfair; isn't it?

  • Yes Pet! It is precisely why I am asking. In my case I am not having a go at COT I just want to know, with some certainty, when 8.7.5.0 is going to be available.

Several times I've had updates completely scramble existing and working applications: to take advantage of new features I've had to "bite the bullet" and start again: painful, time-consuming and costly.

That is what I am desperate to avoid, if possible.

    I share your pain.

  • You get what you pay for at the time you license COT. Personally, I will never purchase another license until I see the features I need implemented. I'm not here to subsidize R/D. The road map defines what is planned, either next month or years down the road. It can change at any time...you cannot plan anything based on dates provided in the road map. This is COT's business model and that's fine. It just is incompatible with mine,

My unlimited license will expire soon however I won't purchase another until the product has what I need. And by the time that rolls around I will probably have moved to another platform and off of ASP.NET.
