Inline Editing in Mobile Browser

I have created a project with Code On Time 5.7.6. with Parent-Child form.
In child controller, inline editing is enabled.

When I browse the project on Mobile with Google Chrome, inline editing is not working properly.
When I click on some field to edit on grid, a textbox appears on top of the screen, but is not editable and not allowed to edit the value of the field (as shown in below image ).

Then I have to click on next field and then only the textbox gets enabled to edit. (as shown in below image).

This in happening when the mobile browser in portrait mode.
When I enable landscape mode, it enables the field textbox directly. (as shown in below image)

  • Kedar,

Inline Editor works in two modes - fixed input and overlay.

If you are operating your app with the mouse then overlay input field is displayed on top of the cell with the field value. It looks and behaves just like Excel.

The same exact editor is displayed at the top of the page on the mobile devices. We do that since the virtual keyboard of mobile device will get in the way and cover the cell with the field value. The only guaranteed area is at the top of the screen.

It really is the same exact inline editor with different stifling and positioning.

Please make sure that you are working with the latest version of the product. Release 8.9.5.0 will include about a dozen enhancements related to inline editing. It will be out on Monday.

  • Thanks for the update.
But if you see the first screenshot I shared, it shows only white space instead of the textbox. when I click on other field and comes back to the field I want to enter data, then only this textbox gets enabled.
