  • This topic states "This feature is available in release 8.5.12.0". When is 8.5.12 going to be available?

Also, can you provide some practical examples on how this Identity Manager can be used in LOB applications.

There are two primary reasons for the Identity Manager introduction:

    1) It provides a summary of accounts used to sign in the app on a given device. Certain kinds of users require quick switching between various roles. This is similar to having multiple email accounts that you want to check. The user identity is also briefly displayed when a user is automatically signed in.

    2) The second reason is to enable the upcoming mobile native apps. Identity Manager retains encrypted login token on the device. Application pages of native apps created with Code On Time are not stored on the server. Instead the pages are stored directly on the device (laptop, tablet, phone). It is not possible to use a web browser cookie to track the user session and identity. The native app will send the retained token with each request to the server.

Code on Time v9 will soon become available - http://codeontime.com/blog/2017/01/an.... Account Manager will make it easy for developers to switch between "admin" and "user" accounts, without retyping the name/password .
