E-Docs portal with Aging, Invoice and Statement tabs

Hello Experts,
How to add navigation on action menu buttons(Aging,Invoice,Statements) to get in to another page, where the selected record details should appear. As I am new to COT unable to find solution please suggest a direction to achieve this.

Scenario is like: In grid I have all customers data If I select one customer and click on Aging- Aging Reports
click on Invoice- all invoices including pending
click on- Statement for last 6 months statements
for the selected customer need to appear in new page

for the reference here I have attached the image of my design

  • Personally I would move your three Actions to the Grid Action Bar (Ag1) and then they will only be available for the record that the user clicks on ( ... )
I would make them SQL actions and you can use something like this:

    set @Result_NavigateUrl = 'EditStudents.aspx?_command=grid1&Pref='+ CAST(@Pref AS nvarchar)

Presumably you have already created the necessary pages that you want to open.
With my example the link between the table in the grid of the page being shown is an integer which is why I'm using CAST to get it to the new url..

There are obviously other ways to navigate. I also sometimes use a Navigate Action in which case you put the URL details into the Command Argument. For example:

    EditStudents.aspx?_controller=Students&Pref={Pref}&Surname={Parsrnm}&_commandName=New&_commandArgument=createForm1&_display=Surname

With that example I'm calling the Create Form for a new Student and am passing the ID of the student's Parents and the Parent's surname.

    Hope that helps

  • Thank you Peter, for the response and I have a confusion here that where I use the above mentioned Sql Argument

    set @Result_NavigateUrl = 'EditStudents.aspx?_command=grid1&Pref='+ CAST(@Pref AS nvarchar)

Should i use in Ag1 sql argument or any of from three customized actions

  • Sorry for delay, I thought I'd answered from my iPhone but it isn't here.

The sql example is obviously for my app so you'd need to change it to relate to your url and ID of your link.

If you leave the Actions where you have them you need to set them to hide until the user has selected a record. (When Key Selected) If a record hasn't been selected, the app won't know what ID to send to the url when one of them buttons is pressed.
If you put them into the grid actions clicking on the ... menu on a record will assure that the correct ID (or whatever you've called the link field to your other data) is sent to the url.
