aspnet_scemaversion error after update the Version from 8.7.13.0 to 8.7.14.0

Dear All,

I have updated the COT from 8.7.13.0 to 8.7.14.0 once updated application is showing the error as "aspnet_schemaversion".

FYI, I am using customize "Membership" User control.

Please let me know for running the same in 8.7.14 what need to change or it's COT bug.

Regards,

  • This error is yours.

It appears that your app is trying to register the standard "admin" and "user" accounts (the default behavior), but the membership tables are not installed.

Select the project, choose Settings, proceed to Database Connection.

Click "..." button next to the connection string and scroll to Membership section. Click Add, click finish. Choose Refresh, refresh and re-generate the app.

  • Dear COT Admin,

In my Question I have already mentioned, I am using "Custom Membership" instead of Asp.Net Membership.

I know, ASP.Net Membership can installed means the error will go- away, but we don't want to go with the Asp.Net Membership option.

we have designed our own customized membership control as per below image option, and it still worked till 8.7.13.0 version, once version is updated to recent release it stopped working, we have built ed lot of controls and set the work flow too.

FYI, same was approach to our client too.

Please let us clarify "Asp.net Membership" is it compulsory for recent release.

For your understanding, I have attached the screen-shot which option we are using without asp.net membership and it's worked fine too.

  • Make sure to refresh and re-generate your app. This will force the framework to create a membership provider.

  • Are you using Unlimited Edition Trail. It appears that custom membership does not work in release 8.7.14.0.

There will be one maintenance update this week. We will bring the feature back.

In fact, you can add ASP.NET Membership and still use the custom security. Adding ASP.NET Membership tables back tot he app will eliminate the error in the trial edition.
